How EMDR Therapy Intensives Help You Heal in a Fraction of the Time

Sometimes we as people wait until the last minute to solve a problem. I know I've been guilty of it. There's so many time in my life where I've bought diapers with my baby wearing her last one, not figured out dinner until 7pm, and wrote the paper I had all semester to do 2 days before its deadline. Sometimes we do the same thing with our mental health. We don't always have months and years to process what we've been through before it starts to really take a toll on our life. Many people assume therapy has to be a long, drawn-out process—but that’s not always true. If you’re looking for deep transformation and faster relief, therapy intensives might be exactly what you need.

Accelerated healing from PTSD

What Is an EMDR Therapy Intensive?

An EMDR intensive is an extended, focused therapy experience where we meet for several hours (or even multiple days) in a row, instead of the typical 50-minute session.

And the difference is incredible.

Instead of pausing just when we’re getting to the root of something, you get the space and time to stay in the process—so your brain and body can actually complete the work.

It’s an alternative to weekly therapy that gives you the time your nervous system needs to truly shift out of survival mode and into healing. What we can do in 6 weekly sessions can be accomplished in 1 three hour session.

When Weekly Therapy Isn’t the Most Efficient Option

Weekly therapy can be incredibly helpful for many people, especially when you're just starting out. But for those carrying long-term, complex trauma, it often isn’t enough. If you find yourself re-explaining your story every session, just getting into the hard stuff when time runs out, or feeling like you’re spinning your wheels week after week—it might be time for something different. Traditional weekly therapy isn’t always effective for people who dissociate easily, have a hard time emotionally “landing” after sessions, or feel stuck in insight without real change. Therapy intensives give your brain the space it needs to move out of survival mode and into deeper, more integrated healing.

Why Clients Say Intensives Help Them Heal Faster

One of my clients described their EMDR intensive as “six months of therapy in three days.”

When we have more time together, you’re not just dipping your toe into healing. You’re diving in—with support, structure, and real, lasting movement.

Here’s why therapy intensives often lead to faster healing:

  • You don’t have to keep reopening old wounds week after week—we address them in one consistent flow.

  • We’re not limited by the clock—you’ll have time to warm up, go deep, and land safely.

  • Your nervous system stays engaged instead of resetting every week.

  • We can actually get to the core of what's been stuck for years.

EMDR Therapy Intensives Are Especially Helpful If You…

  • Feel like you’ve done “all the therapy” and still feel triggered or disconnected

  • Have a history of complex trauma, especially from childhood

  • Are dealing with the OCD and PTSD overlap, and therapy hasn’t addressed both

  • Struggle with attachment wounds that make relationships painful or confusing

  • Want relief—but don’t want to wait months or years for it

Why Work With Me?

As an EMDR therapist trained specifically in complex trauma, dissociation, and attachment wounds, I work with people who have tried everything and still don’t feel better. I also specialize in the often-overlooked overlap between OCD and PTSD, which can be deeply misunderstood—even by experienced therapists.

Whether we’re addressing early childhood trauma, the exhaustion of living in a hypervigilant body, or the heartbreak of never feeling “good enough,” my approach is warm, grounded, and built on the belief that healing is possible—even if it hasn’t felt that way before.

I offer EMDR therapy intensives for clients located in Utah, Idaho, and Nevada, either in person or via secure telehealth. These intensives are custom-built for your nervous system, your history, and your goals—no cookie-cutter protocols here.

What to Expect in an EMDR Intensive

  • A thorough pre-assessment to understand your goals and triggers

  • Personalized resourcing and preparation work so you feel safe and supported

  • 3–6 hour sessions (or multiple days) of targeted EMDR work

  • A post-intensive integration plan to help you maintain your progress

  • Optional follow-up support as you continue your healing journey

Ready for a Different Kind of Healing?

If weekly therapy has left you spinning your wheels, EMDR therapy intensives might be the breakthrough you’ve been waiting for.

You don’t have to stay stuck. You don’t have to keep dragging your trauma around like a weight you’ve learned to live with. You can heal—faster, more deeply, and with someone who truly understands the layers of what you’ve lived through.

If you live in Utah, Idaho, or Nevada, I’d love to talk with you about how an EMDR intensive can help.
