Utah's Premier Clinic for Those Dealing with Scrupulosity, Shame, and Guilt
You’re not alone in how you feel.

Many of my clients struggle with obsessions and compulsions, but beneath those surface symptoms lies a deeper pain: the feeling of never being good enough or safe enough.

My clients push themselves every day, striving for perfection, yet shame and failure seem to flood in when they fall short. They excel at work but wrestle with self-doubt. They cherish their relationships yet constantly worry about saying or doing the wrong thing.

When single, they fear being alone. When dating, they become consumed by crushes. In marriage, they struggle to voice their needs, often feeling hurt by a well-meaning spouse who may not fully understand their anxiety.

Parenting is another source of stress. They question whether they’re good enough, fearing that their imperfections might harm their children in the future.

They wonder if they deserve the good in their lives and blame themselves for the bad. They worry about their morality and character, feeling raw and ashamed over mistakes like going over budget, forgetting appointments, or disappointing others.

My client's feel like everything is always their fault and if they could just be more perfect life would all be okay.

Religion often intensifies these feelings. Instead of joy, prayer brings desperation. They attend places of worship feeling unworthy, convinced they’re falling short. They forgive others’ flaws but struggle to extend that same grace to themselves.

But here’s the truth: you can feel better.

I’ll help you work through your obsessions and intrusive thoughts—whether they involve fears about your partner, accidents, illness, or even eternal consequences. Together, we’ll address the compulsions—handwashing, avoiding, confessing, or seeking reassurance—and begin to break their hold on your life.

More importantly, I’ll help you reconnect with yourself.

You’ll learn to trust yourself and the world around you. You’ll feel lovable, capable, and good enough just as you are. Mistakes won’t feel catastrophic—they’ll feel human. You’ll find joy in living , not fear and shame.

My goal isn’t just to manage your distress or teach you to cope. I want you to thrive. Therapy with me is about helping you become the best version of yourself—one who feels safe, confident, and at peace.
You’ve taken the first step by being here. Let’s take the next step together.
About
Hi, I'm Grace Bithell, LCSW
I’m a Utah based shame and guilt therapist, a mostly recovered guilt-a-holic, and I value my relationships deeply. I understand that trauma and OCD can take away your ability to feel peace. I know how exhausting it is when your own mind doesn’t feel like a safe place.I care about providing therapy that helps you feel better, not just function better. I'm rarely someone’s first therapist. When you've tried exposures, learned to deep breathe, adapted to thinking positively, and are still experiencing intense distress from scrupulosity or trauma, I can get you unstuck. I want you to show up to triggering situations and talk to triggering people and not just cope, but leave unbothered. If you struggle to feel in your bones that you are good enough, live in Utah or Idaho, and you’re ready to move past coping and towards healing, reach out to me.
Grace is FABULOUS! She brings personality, passion, and evidence based treatment to her clients. She truly cares about her clients and always works to evolve as a clinician to make sure she is meeting their needs.
Grace is truly one of the greatest therapists I know. She has more knowledge and skill in treating trauma and OCD than almost any other therapist I have met, but that is nothing compared to her compassion, empathy, understanding, and humor. I cannot recommend her enough if you are looking for a therapist!
Grace is a very attentive and experienced therapist, she helps you feel comfortable and walks with you as you walk through makes you uncomfortable, and helps you shift to walking to a place of healing and hope.
